Tonkatsu Lab.

As mentioned before, there is something great about a restaurant that simply does one dish, or one type of dish perfectly. Tonkatsu Lab is one of those places, with breaded pork (various cuts await you), this small restaurant in Tokyo serves up Tonkatsu, rice, and shredded cabbage. The perfect, quick lunchtime spot if you happen to work in the area. What makes this pork special though is the fact they have been fed avocados to make them nice and juicy. I don’t think I’ve had a better Tonkatsu and I beg you to try this spot if ever in Japan. Expect to wait in a queue, but they move swiftly so you can have a think about what cut of pork you want. Another interesting element of this restaurant is that they have various types of salt available at each table (charcoal and himalayan to name a few), the salt brings out more of the flavour in the pork, and you can decide which type of salt matches your palette.

Price per head: £12 and up depending on drinks and type of pork cut!
