Restaurante El Serbal

Restaurante El Serbal might have the best bay views of any restaurant I’ve been in. Looking out into the vast ocean, as well as morons making TikTok videos, really got my appetite going. With a welcome glass of sparkling, we were excited for our last meal in Santander, knowing full well we would be back at some point, it really is a great city break. The short tasting menu does the job, with a few interesting takes on Cantabria cuisine, friendly service, and as much bread as you can handle. I particularly liked their version of a Cocido Lebaniego”, it looked like a dumpling wrapped in bacon. The cheese ice cream was also surprisingly delicious, I’m always dubious about cheese desserts because I fear it’ll have my most hated GOAT cheese in there; lucky for me it was slightly sweet with a biscuit crumble and quince. Don’t rush to get through the meal, savour the views and the company you are with. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend our last evening.
