Noodle Shop Rennosuke

My Japan trip in 2024 feels like a life time ago, and as I prepare for another trip in a few short months, I’m keen to revisit my time in 2024 with a few spots that really stood out. The first being Noodle Shop Rennosuke, tucked away in a residential street with unassuming signage. This place seats 10 people; I was lucky enough to book it out entirely for my wife’s family which made the whole evening extra special. Before I get into how memorable a meal this was, I did want to say that the most humorous moment of the night is when the chef asked me in Japanese if I was hosting a business meeting given everyone in the restaurant on my wife’s side was Asian lol

Now the meal, the starters were amazing, the ramen was delicious, and the Wasanbon was like a Japanese Wattalapam. The photos tell the story of simple food done right, with an unusually (But beautiful!) brutalist design inside, this is exquisite food done with care, I’m still dreaming of those grilled chicken wings and mushrooms.
