Tayyabs.

When I first moved to London back in 2007, I don’t think I ever loved a spot more than Tayyabs. With their BYOB, chaotic atmosphere, super friendly staff, and non existent kitchen extractor fans. When you leave Tayyabs you will certainly smell like you have been to a curry house. This is a get in and get out sort of spot, they have been open since 1972 and are continually expanding their restaurant. From small humble beginnings on Fieldgate street, the restaurant has expanded in all directions which is great for punters.

Order the keema, order various naan, but for damn sure you better order the mixed meat platter. Coming out on a sizzling platter, the chicken tikka, the lamb kebab, the lamb chops, the fragrant onions and peppers that make the bed, this is an amazing starter that is best shared with friends. They do have lovely vegetarian options, but by the time those come you’ll probably be in a meat coma. Tayyabs is an institution, and I always encourage visitors to give it a go just for the incredible atmosphere.

Price per head: £15 and up depending, best to go with friends and share a ton of stuff
