Benoit Paris

I wanted to experience a traditional French Bistro when in Paris, and it seemed that one of the oldest institutions in the City was Benoit Paris, now part of Alain Ducasse’s restaurant empire. We wanted escargot, we wanted foie gras, and my God did we get it. This is classic French dishes prepared with precision in what can only be described as your grandparents dining room. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the black pepper and emmental cheese bread/puffs. I went for the seafood special which was sea scallops in a chicory and citrus sauce, obviously then reduced with a butter emulsion. This meal is heavy and delicious, pure French class. With friendly service worthy of their Star, you’ll leave full and ready for a nap.
