The Eight restaurant

Growing up in Scarborough (represent!) in Toronto, there was an abundance of great Cantonese food. Whenever I head back, I always make time to grab one or two meals with friends as the quality is just genuinely better than it is in London. However, very recently Soho has seen an influx of restaurants and one that has impressed is The Eight”. I’m no expert in Cantonese food, but my wife being Cantonese seems a good person to qualify this all and she’s a big fan. I’ve gone a few times, but the standout dishes to me are the mix hot dourves (Curry fish balls!) and the Baked Rice with Pork Chop in tomato puree! This dish which is smothered in cheese with chunks of pork (Tender!) with a delicious tomato base, this is a moreish dish that you will devour and probably want seconds, it’s quite big for one person but again, once you take that first bite you will be pulling that plate towards you and fighting off friends and family alike. As for drinks, as a fan of Yuzu I would suggest grabbing the Yuzu tea as it’s very refreshing and quite unusual to find here in London.

Price per head: £15-25 depending on how hungry and thirsty you are!
