Fat Duck
I was reminiscing as I blankly stared at this blog, and I realised that there are a ton of restaurants I’ve eaten at that predate this blog, by almost a decade. One such institution is The Fat Duck. It has held 3 Michelin stars since 2004, which is a feat in itself. When we went, we secured a table for four, it was a very memorable day out with our good friends Brendon and Christine who have now gone back to the motherland that is Australia. The meal is a proper experience, from listening to the ocean via headphones while you eat one of the courses, to the jaw dropping presentation of some of the dishes that bring back memories of Heston Blumenthal’s childhood. The less I say the better, because like I said this is an experience, and you will not leave on an empty stomach, they properly feed you here to the point of explosion. The whole day was a dream, Brendon drove so we got to explore the surrounding area which was stunning. It’s probably one of my favourite memories in all my years of London, my phone sometimes cycles through these images and I can’t help but smile. It’s a meal to be shared with friends…run don’t walk!
