Restaurant Gordon Ramsay
I dined at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay not long after my mum passed away. Ann was out of town, and I thought I’d treat myself to a nice meal given the terrible few months I’d endure. I remember the meal well as I had heightened emotions eating alone, it was such a surreal experience. Having said that, the meal was itself was not memorable but technically brilliant. There is a reason this place has held 3 Michelin stars for over 20 years! I remember the ravioli and the praline dessert, but everything in between was an unremarkable blur. I’ve always said that Service can make or break a meal, and the oddest thing happened as I paid my bill. The server asked me if I wanted to keep the receipt as a memento of my time at the restaurant. I can sort of understand the sentiment, but the arrogance to think I’d want to keep the receipt just rubbed me the wrong way, and has tainted my view of the restaurant ever since.
