Rijks

I was visiting Amsterdam for work and my good friend was able to secure a reservation at RIJKS. A new entry into the World’s top 50 discovery and a Michelin star to boot. RIJKS keeps going from strength to strength.

The menu we had was diverse, a mix of meat and vegetable based dishes and not the type of meal where we had to be rolled out of the restaurant, it was the perfect amount of food. Presentation is as good as any restaurant I’ve been to, all beautifully plated, all with stunning colours, and all delicious. A few stand out dishes include the langoustines with caviar, the razor clams, and the lamb. I’ll also call out the Bread pudding which was inspired by the famous Dutch painting The Milk Maid. The photos below should highlight the artistry the team works to. Service was excellent, though I will say being asked after every course how I’m enjoying my meal can start to irritate. Having said that, a great atmosphere with friendly staff.
