La Tana

This may be a blog first, I’m going to write about La Tana which is a new restaurant on Fortress Road near Tufnell Park station. It has no website or social media to date so you’ll just have to google it. It’s a brand new restaurant that is worth a trip to North West London for. It’s a tiny space where you can enjoy refined Italian dishes plated like a fine dining restaurant, all without forking over a limb to cover it. The entire menu of food was 9 dishes, we opted for the mackerel with cucumber and extra virgin olive oil. I’m generally not a fan of cured/raw mackerel but this was delightful and refreshing. The homemade sourdough was also divine with chlorophyll butter. For mains we opted for the Monkfish which had a sauce that tasted like the ocean, I mean that in the best possible way. The Baba we had was excellent and as I detest gin they were kind enough to remove it for me before serving. This is a cute place with a chef that really cares, constantly popping out to check in and serve up HIS creations. I’m sure I’ll visit again as the menu is seasonal.

Price per head: £45 with a glass of wine
