Jikoni

Jikoni is such an unusual place, it has wonderful service and the most bonkers menu. I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready to eat chaat and congee in the same meal, but at Jikoni that is very much a possibility. This place does Asian fusion, so if you ever crave all manner of Asian cuisine that knows no borders, this is the place for you!

We started with the crispy kale chaat which came with a generous portion of yogurt and tamarind chutney. The charred Brussels sprouts with bonito flakes was also an interesting selection, who knew to prepare Brussels Sprouts with bonito flakes. I tend to always want to order wild mushrooms on toast if I see it on a menu and this was no different, I mean it came with a curry hollandaise sauce and winter truffle. Jikoni is also famous for their prawn scotch egg which is delicious, I’d highly suggest getting that as one of their nibble” options.

We shared the crispy aubergine in sichuan carame which was a bit too sweet for my liking, as well as the Kuka Paka which is their chicken curry with saffron rice. Super tender and saffron rice is always a winner with the right amount of butter.

Jikoni is such an unusual place, but if you love all types of Asian cuisines and crave them all one day, this is the only spot to satisfy your cravings.
