Dishoom

Dishoom is firmly established as an institution with locations all over central London. For me though, the Dishoom in Shoreditch has a fond place with me as I used to live a short 2 min walk from the location, I even rocked up when it first opened and was given a Dishoom coin, the purpose of this coin is at the end of your meal if you flash the coin, you’re given a dice and if you roll a 6 your meal is free! During my many years in Shoreditch I did not score a ton of free meals, but the odd meal was good enough.

The food is excellent, but really you wanna go to Dishoom for breakfast. There are two dishes that must be tried and consumed, the star of the breakfast is clearly the Bacon Naan roll. Smoked streaky bacon, cream cheese, coriander, all wrapped up in a delicious naan. TimeOut called this one of the 100 things you must eat in London for good reason. The other dish that I always find delicious is the Kerjiwal, this is two fried eggs served on chilli bloomer toast. This is incredibly moreish and has that chilli kick that will require you to consume their all you can drink chai. Getting with the times Dishoom now offers their chai with Oat milk. Everyone’s a winner!

Price per head: £15 with a chai
