Darjeeling Express

If you’ve been living under a rock, you’d be excused for not knowing who Asma Khan is. The brains and heart behind Darjeeling Express, and the first British chef to feature on Netflix’s Chef’s table. Perched on the top floor of Kingly Court in Soho, you’ll find Asma and her all women team of chefs hard at work preparing the street food she grew up eating in Calcutta.

I’m a fan of a tasting menu and Darjeeling Express offers their Royal Thali menu in the evenings. It’s an absurd amount of food for one person, but given the company I kept this evening, half the table was able to pack a take away bag for their partners at home with the kids. The menu is varied and epic, but I implore you to save room for dessert as you’ll have a selection of 4 to indulge in!
