Brawn

Brawn was one of those restaurants I stumbled upon when living in Shoreditch so many years ago. I’m so pleased it’s still thriving in the East and the food is as stellar as ever. They have a focus on seasonal and sustainable produce, focus on natural wines, and serve food in an unfussy and unpretentious space. This is a laid back spot with exceptional food.

This is all about small plates, so I think going with a group of friends would be ideal so you can try a ton of stuff. A few standout dishes were the crab, apple, kohlrabi and tarragon which was generous in all aspects, especially the crab! We opted for the two pasta mains to be gluttonous and I’m so glad we did, their pork and fennel tagliatelle might be one of the best I’ve ever had. Mix this all in with some delicious oysters, and you’ve got a pretty perfect Saturday lunch.
