Quilon

Every year since we’ve been able to do so, Colin and I get together for dinner to celebrate the hard work we have put in at work. This year we decided on Quilon because they have an epic beer tasting menu. Quilon is a stone’s throw away from Buckingham palace and does refined South West Indian cuisine, it’s white table cloths, attentive staff, and a focus on seafood. With a Michelin star under it’s belt, What’s not to love!

As I said, we opted for the beer pairing menu which was a delight. The crab cake with mustard was particularly tangy with a healthy dose of crab. The baked black cod was perfectly prepared with spices, normally I’ve had black cod in a sweet miso so this was a very different experience. The asparagus, beans, and edamame was the perfect counter to the biryani and chicken curry. This is a fast moving meal with very attentive staff. The beer pairing was varied, we chuckled at the fact the first drink was a Camden Hells lager, but as the meal progressed it got more and more unique, like the anchor steam from San Francisco. This is a solid find, especially if on the tourist track and you’re looking for a break from the crowds.
