Kolamba

I’m on a bit of a roll when it comes to Sri Lankan restaurants in London. This trend continues with Kolamba right in Soho. I got to enjoy this meal with some work colleagues who trusted me to order for the table.

The mutton rolls and Mutton Poriyal are excellent, if you’ve never had mutton, no better time to start than now. This is as authentic as I can remember for a humble mutton roll, something I’ve consumed for as long as I can remember growing up in Scarborough. The hot butter cuttlefish packed a serious bite which had us all reaching for more beer. A final stand out dish would be the the black and pepper prawn fry. These prawns were surprisingly large and doused in this delicious sauce, we got our hands dirty trying to get every morsel out of these bad boys.

Kolamba is a great shout on a sunny day as they have some outdoor seating, you can sit back with a cold beer, mutton roll in hand and watch the world pass by. I encourage you to do this with a group of friends so you can try a multitude of dishes.

Price per head: £45 with a drink
