ILUKA

One of the best places in the world to eat is Copenhagen, it’s like Tokyo, really hard to have a bad meal. I was craving seafood this trip and ILUKA focuses on sustainable seafood, mostly caught in the North Sea. This 7 course tasting menu hit all the right notes, it was the perfect place to catch up with friends over a glass of wine, or something more stiff like an Old Fashioned.

The scallops with rhubarb and pink pepper were surprising to say the least, I wasn’t sure the combination would work but it set the scene for the rest of the meal. Combinations that defy logic but work. I thoroughly enjoyed the squid with sweet potato, cured egg yolk, and Thai basil. It made for interesting textures biting into all of it, it didn’t hurt that the squid was cooked to perfection. We finished with this incredibly refreshing sorbet with Mayan red chocolate, grated milk, and dill oil. I swear, I’ve had dill in so many desserts now that I actively look for it on menus.

Do yourself a favour and go here with friends, on top of having an exquisite meal, I had one of the best catch ups with good friends. Thanks Ladies! Till next time ❤️
