Audrey’s

I was in Calpe for Ann’s barbershop competition, a sentence I’m sure I would never write in my life. In any event, the seafood in the Calpe region is quite good and we enjoyed a ton of food during the few days we were in the area, but with a free day before the official competition, I thought it would be nice to try Audrey’s. We were lucky enough to even meet Chef Rafa Soler who plated a few of our dishes. This is a nice detour if you are in the area and want something a bit more refined than the myriad of restaurants along the harbour. The bread is a family recipe dating back generations and is incredible, I asked for a second serving as I couldn’t get enough. The Olive Oil comes from Chef’s hometown and is generations old. The seafood courses here are excellent and though it’s white table cloths it doesn’t have a stuffy vibe. It’s actually quite unusual as it’s within the AR hotel Diamante Beach on the first floor, so you can look down and see people in the bar/lobby.

The food is beautifully plated and delicious, while at the same time being as unpretentious as you can get. A quick word with the Chef before we left, as he was kind enough to come by and say hello. Check this one out if ever in the area!
